Embroidering my name

Why do I have my signature embroidered into a design?

There are two reasons….

  1. Sometimes I can’t afford the label.

I make small runs, and the European ateliers I work with, can’t just whip up a batch of 50 labels, they need to make 2000.

Then that stockpile of 1950 labels just languishes in a warehouse.  My cash flow has taken a hit,  and for all I know, I’ll have rebranded my logo by the time they are used up.

2. I don’t believe in sending a label across Europe

DHL’ing the logo labels, just adds unnecessary paperwork, carbon footprint & cost to my designs.

So I had to get creative with an alternative solution.  Instead I hand drew my signature into my embroidery design.   Hoping my designs will be handed down as heirlooms and recognisable from my name.

The future of production will be localised if you’ve read all the AI/Block chain data, but until then, I’m just trying my best, one stitch at a time.

Speaking of which, my pansy design will have to wait till next Spring, Covid and Brexit have meant my production ground to a halt in the first half of this year.
